The story in three sentences

Bifold is a flashcard app designed for iPhone Duo: the question sits on the closed phone, and opening it reveals the answer on the other half, so the oldest study gesture in the world, turning the card over, becomes the phone's own gesture. Underneath is the real thing: FSRS-6 spaced repetition, cards made from a photo of your notes or a semester of PDFs with page references back to the source, Anki import with history, and a study session that is complete by VoiceOver. Studying is free forever; the paid tier is cloud AI that saves time.

Founder

David Payette founded Payette Forward, an iPhone help channel with 1.5 million subscribers, after years on the Apple Store floor helping people with their phones. Bifold is the first app he has designed from the hinge out.

Naming and marks

Write "Bifold" with a capital B, never "BiFold" or "bifold app". iPhone and iPhone Duo are Apple trademarks; please do not describe Bifold as "Made for iPhone Duo", which is Apple's badge, but as "designed for iPhone Duo". Anki is a trademark of its owner; Bifold imports Anki files and is not affiliated with Anki.
